RedR UK provides training and technical support to NGOs, aid workers and communities responding to natural and man-made disasters all over the world. Our expert support ensures that those responding to humanitarian crises - whether or not they are professional aid workers - have the skills to do so safely and effectively.

We also work in partnership with international and national NGOs, UN agencies, academic institutions, think tanks and the private sector to improve emergency response at a global level. Since our founding in 1980, we've responded to many of the major disasters the world has faced, including the 2004 'Boxing Day' tsunami, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the recent Ebola outbreak, and the ongoing Syrian crisis.

RedR UK is also a Membership organisation: we have a global network of 1,800 Members, all of whom are experienced humanitarian professionals. RedR Membership is a mark of quality, enabling aid workers to obtain professional recognition of their skills and experience.

The Role

This role is a 60% FTE (21 hours a week) position. RedR UK is also recruiting for a number of other posts including a Salesforce Database Coordinator role which is a 40% FTE position (14 hours a week). We would welcome applications from candidates that are interested in both roles.

About the role:

As Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator you will lead on the implementation of RedR’s monitoring, evaluation, learning and knowledge management activities across the organisation. You will act as the day to day point of contact for all MEL enquiries, and be responsible for maintaining RedR’s database of organisational MEL data, develop and ensure consistent use of MEL tools, and implement a range of MEL activities. You will also lead on maintaining our global library of training materials and our programmes document storage system.

You will be part of the Quality and Effectiveness Team, and report to the Quality and Effectiveness Manager. You will work with Programmes staff across the organisation, based in the UK, Jordan and Sudan. In addition, you will collaborate regularly with our Fundraising and Communications team.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent, preferably in humanitarian action, international development, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in M&E of projects and programmes in a humanitarian or development context
  • Ability to work effectively with qualitative and quantitative analysis software and databases.
  • Experience of collating, analysing and presenting evidence using statistical and wider analysis
  • Ability to advocate across teams for compliance with M&E system as well as effective learning and improving based on evidence.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage and complete a variety of tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent writing skills in English and proven report writing skills.
  • Creativity in presenting results and lessons learned to various audiences and using a variety of channels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure clear and effective communication with colleagues and partners from diverse cultural and international backgrounds
  • A commitment to our humanitarian mission and values
  • Advanced use of Excel, and good skills in the use of Outlook and Word
  • Initiative, enthusiasm and a problem-solving approach to new challenges;
  • Commitment to RedR UK, its vision, principles and strategy.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the use of Sharepoint, SalesForce, SurveyMonkey and/or Web content management software;
  • Willingness to travel internationally, if needed.
  • Interest and experience in learning and development;
  • Field Exposure – Experience in Humanitarian and/or international development field operations

Further Information:
Salary:£29,650 (pro-rata)

Contract: Permanent and 60% FTE (21 hours per week).
