ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is within the Europe & Global Initiatives Programme which is the largest of four regional offices within RedR UK and is expanding: in terms of geographical reach so that our work reaches more practitioners across Europe; so that we reach more first responders; so that we deliver a wider range of capacity building services; and so that we deliver more support in DRR and preparedness.
In this role you will work within phase 2 of the Ready to Respond programme. Ready to Respond was developed in response to growing urbanisation worldwide, and the need for the humanitarian sector to develop its skills and expertise to meet the different challenges of disaster response in urban environments. Thanks to the support of our donor, RedR UK has been able to support the humanitarian community to increase its capacity in urban disaster prevention, response and recovery.
Ready to Respond has already produced a 5-day Urban WASH in Emergencies, a 5-day Shelter in Urban Emergencies and a 3-day blended learning Urban Humanitarianism course for the private sector. We are now moving into phase 2 of the project where RedR will develop e-facilitated courses along with continuing our face-to face training and mentoring scheme.
