RedR UK provides high quality capacity building for the humanitarian sector, and is currently expanding its e-learning programmes. Therefore we are looking for an experienced learning and development professional with a strong track record in digital and online learning to lead RedR UK’s work in this domain. Our e-learning activities consists of stand-alone courses, such as the immersive Mission Ready course and facilitated Urban Humanitarianism course, as well as blended learning activities, using our Moodle-based platform. The role will focus on strategic development, customisation and technical development of the platform, internal capacity building and further expanding our e-learning portfolio.”

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to further expand the offer of RedR UK in terms of digital and online learning, lead on further developing and implementing our organisational digital learning strategy, strengthen the internal capacity to deliver e-learning and ensure that we have a consistent and ambitious approach to digital learning across all regional offices. The focus will be particularly on expanding digital and online learning opportunities that are suitable for reaching national staff and first responders in humanitarian settings across the regions we work in, including in locations with limited bandwidth and internet access, and across languages (incl. Arabic).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic development of digital and online learning (15%)

Drive forwards the strategic development of e-learning provision in RedR

Lead on the development and implementation of the organisational, cross-regional e-learning strategy based on the current E&GI e-learning strategy

Research and develop ‘digital badges’ for the e-learning courses.

Lead the customisation and upgrading of the RedR online e-learning environment (Moodle based), in close collaboration with a hosting company.

Internal capacity building and hands-on support (15%)

Provide training to staff and trainers across regions (focus on the Europe & Global Initiatives Team and Middle East team), to enable them to design, facilitate and manage their own e-learning courses / e-learning component of blended courses.

Provide hands-on support for e-learning in project start-up phase and on the job training and technical guidance for staff during implementation.

Quality assurance and tools (10%)

Establish quality assurance standards and process for e-learning facilitation and design, including for online facilitator recruitment and assessment.

Maintain up to date guidance, standards, tools and resources (incl. templates) for the implementation of e-learning courses to ensure a consistent approach to digital learning across the organisation.

Representation, marketing and acquisition (10%)

Represent RedR externally to increase our profile with regards to e-learning

Stay informed to ensure that RedR stays abreast of key developments in the sector

Lead on proactive marketing of RedR’s e-learning offer, incl. developing promotion materials

Identify opportunities and write proposals for the acquisition of e-learning projects

Provide technical advice on the inclusion of e-learning in broader projects


How to apply:

This role is 17,5 hours a week on a 12 month Fixed term contract.

Salary: £31,790.00
