The Role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the long term effectiveness and sustainability of RedR’s programme activities. You will grow and strengthen RedR’s contribution to the Humanitarian Sector and its financial sustainability. You will develop excellent relationships with all RedR regional operations, partner organisations and donors to identify and effectively respond to opportunities, connecting the skills RedR has with the needs of disaster affected people.

Person Specification

Essential

  • At least 5 years experience working in the humanitarian sector, either in field or HQ positions
  • Track record of securing, successfully managing and reporting on significant grants from institutional donors
  • Bring a network of contacts from across the Humanitarian Sector
  • Able and comfortable in working at both strategic and operational level
  • Proven experience of preparing and managing budgets
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
  • Understanding of the donor compliance needs for a variety of humanitarian donors
  • Proven experience of preparing and managing narrative proposals and reports for a variety of humanitarian donors
  • Excellent IT skills, specifically in MS Office and database management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across the organisation and externally
  • Confidence and ability to represent RedR externally including public speaking as necessary
  • An enterprising, creative, goal-orientated and can-do-attitude
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, sometimes to difficult/insecure locations for up to 25% of the time
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and preferably in another UN official language

Contract: Permanent - Full time

Salary: £35,200 gross p/a
